What's Going ON@!@$@!#

Planning ahead.

If you are anything like our family, PLANNING IS A MUST. Whether it is school, sports, church, life in general we are in a mode of planning. With four kids and busy schedules, we have to plan everything down to the clothes we wear and the meals we are going to eat.

PLANNING IS ESSENTIAL

With all this talk about planning we wanted to let you know of a few things going on to help you plan ahead.

If you think your child’s spiritual walk is important, then you need to mark down these events and get your kid or kids plugged in. I am going to explain the importance, purpose, and specifics of each event and what you need to do.

First and foremost is our weekly church service. Wednesday night at 6:30 pm and Sunday morning at 11:00 am are our weekly worship services. We sing praise songs, have Bible time, and we teach a lesson. All three of these are biblical and necessary in our children’s walk with Christ. So if you were not sure of when you now know and the why is to grow as a believer.

We also have weekly Faith Groups. This is at 10:00 am on Sundays. The purpose is to grow deeper in our Bible knowledge. We offer this for ages 2 years old all the way up to fifth grade. So if you attend church but do not attend Faith Group we want to encourage you to attend that.

BIG EVENTS

Vacation Bible Extreme - VBX

This is our 2nd year hosting this awesome event. It is a great event not just for our kids but the community. Ages 4 years old to 5th grade are welcome to come as we look at “POWERING UP” for God. We do this a little differently than most as we host this event on June 2nd (Sunday) – June 5th. WE do this at night as well. We serve the kids dinner and they get a t shirt. All of this is free. This is another way to grow spiritually, have fun, and worship God. So if you have not signed up your kids do so at our website. www.fbcartesia.com

Camps – 412 and Explorers

Camps are super special to me because this is where God moved big time in my life. You see this is what happens when you get away from all the distractions of everyday life and immerse yourself in God’s presence. God can move anywhere, but some huge life decisions are made at camp. In my opinion, camp is a no brainer and I would highly encourage you to use this opportunity to help your child grow.

Camp is also just flat fun. There is games, crafts, and super fun activities that keep your child engaged and able to make lifetime memories.

We offer two camps. Camp 412 – which is for 1st and 2nd graders is June 25 – June 27 and cost $125. This covers everything. We take them to Cloudcroft, NM and we use this camp as an intro to camp. It exposes them to what camp is like, engages them in growing with God, and allows them to stay relatively close to home.

Explorers Camp is for 3rd – 5th graders. This is $250 and is in Floydada, TX. Plains Baptist Camp to be specific and it’s amazing. June 16 – 20 are the dates for this camp and again I would encourage you to sign up your kids.

The greatest thing you can do as parents is invest in your child spiritually. This is done through teaching them, encouraging them, and using the different opportunities that God has provided to dig deeper into their relationship with God. So as parents I would ask that you pray for your children daily, guide them with Holy Spirit leadership, and get them engaged in as much stuff at the church as possible.

We are a team and are here to help, but we can only expose and show you what we have. WE can not do it for you.

If you ever need anything please don’t hesitate to reach out. Know that we are here for you and care about you.

Have a super awesome good time day.

In Christ,

Paul Dunbar
