January 28th

Dear Faith Kids Family,

What a crazy week! We took 55 kids to Cloudcroft for tubing and it was awesome. Thanks to all the adults that went as well. Keep and eye out for other fun events coming up in the future on our website (www.fbcartesia.com/faith-kids/) or on our Facebook page (Faith kids Artesia).

We continued Sunday Jan 20 with our NEW series. We talked about NEW habits. We must pick a time, place, and have a plan of action to grow spiritually. We looked at Jesus from Mark 1:35 and used that as our example. Sit down with you kids and see how we can all create better spiritual disciplines in our life.

Yesterday we talked about NEW relationships. When we begin new relationships with people 3 things are different.

1. We see a NEW value in people.

2. We love people in a NEW way.

3. We treat people in a NEW way.

Before we started the lesson we had 5 kids get BAPTIZED. What!!! It was an awesome way to kick off the service. So proud of the kids that followed in believer’s baptism and if you or your child are interested please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Ever wondered how you can help your child spiritually. Below are 3 ways to engage your child spiritually.

1. Pray together

a. Look for those natural times to pray. Before school, at meal times, before bed are all great times to model and lead in prayer with your child. It might seem uncomfortable at first, but so did walking and riding a bike. Just takes some practice.

2. Read the bible together

a. Set a time, pick a place, and have a plan. Start small and work up. Proverbs is a great place to begin and has some much great stuff for you and your child.

3. Listen to worship music together.

a. If you are like my family we love music!! In the car, at the house, playing outside, we love to have music on. This is a great time to listen to praise and worship music. There is a lot of great stuff out there.

Did you see the pattern? Together! One of the easiest ways to help lead your child is to do it together. You didn’t learn how to eat on your own. Someone worked with you and taught you. The same is true for our spiritual walk. Start slow, but start. If we can help in anyway let us know, but we want YOU to lead your child. Keep it up and remember it is a marathon not a sprint.

As always have a super awesome good time day!

IN Christ,

Paul and Andy
